Our Governor extended the “stay at home” order until May 18. Our days with contracting Covid-19 and the number of deaths in Minnesota has not seen any sort of significant decline. Even the numbers in Becker County are on the increase. So, where do we stand with junior golf at Lakeview this season?
It’s not insignificant! We recognize the importance of young people getting out and exercising and socializing with one another. We have seen a lot of families playing golf at Lakeview and DCC. I see that as a sign of safety being together and the opportunity of getting outside for exercise. I think the time will come when junior golf will happen again.
I have no idea when that is………..
Let’s see what happens after May 18th. Let’s see when more people can get back to work. Let’s see when the perception is that young people can be in a group enjoying golf together. Young people should not contract the virus, our young instructors should not contract the virus. BUT, we are not playing God here and deciding we will be first in opening up camps and clinics. We might be second though! We love teaching golf and we love your kids. We also love our employees who have been with us for years.
So, we all will hang in there. Look for another update after the 18th. For now, we have a Parent Child Tournament scheduled for Sunday, June 7th. Tee times, 8am til 2pm with a ZOOM call that night to all of you that participated! I didn’t know what Zoom was two months ago!
We will get through this……….
